Even though it is winter, don’t let that put you off getting out and about in the great outdoors. In the UK we are really lucky to have lots of fantastic places to walk within a close proximity. Make sure you wrap up warm for the weather – visit shamrockgift to find cosy winter aran sweaters and get some good walking boots to wear – then you are all set to head off into the great outdoors. Here are some of the best places to enjoy a winter walk in the UK…
Hampshire – The New Forest in Hampshire is lovely at this time of the year. See the resident ponies grazing on the frosty grass and see the holly bushes and bare winter trees as you wander through this lovely part of the world.
Yorkshire – The beautiful countryside of Yorkshire is a delight to behold in the winter. The Yorkshire Dales provide plenty of fantastic walking routes, and you can climb up to one of the highest peaks, the Yorkshire Matterhorn and see the stunning frosty fields below.
Cornwall – Not a typical choice to walk in the winter, but the sea lashing against the North Cornish coastline is a true thing of beauty. Nature in all of its wild glory abounds as you walk along the cliffs and beaches of the coast, and then head further inland for the peaceful woodlands.
